How to improve galaxy S battery life with wiping battery stats?

Why wipe? Because your android is not detecting the battery capacity correctly, i.e bad calibration? For example, you charged your phone to 100%, Android tells u to unplug, then immediately after you unplugged your phone battery level shows only 96%. Then it is time to wipe your battery stats.

3 methods:

1) using the clockwork recovery mode, under wipe battery stats.

2) using root explorer go to /data/system/ and delete batterystats.bin when your phone reached 5% battery. Why 5% because everytime your phone prompts you to recharge, it will create a batterystats.bin file. That is, if you delete that file at 100%, your phone will automatically create it again when it reaches 15%, 10% and 5%.

3) using "android terminal emulator"

enter the follow command without the "

"su"

"rm /data/system/batterystats.bin"

su stands for superuser, rm stands for remove.

Procedure:

Use your phone till 5% battery, delete the batterystats.bin file.
Continue using it till your phone auto shutdown. After it shut down, try switching on again to make sure the battery is really dead.
Take out your battery for 10 seconds and put it back.
Charge for 8 hours. Unplug power, boot up to android, then the new calibrated batterystats.bin will be auto created.
